Montayral an ideal French holiday destination in the Lot Valley

Montayral in the Lot Valley is an ideal French holiday destination. It’s easy to see why there are campsites and holiday parks all around. The mild climate (hot in the middle of summer) makes Lot et Garone and the Lot Valley a favoured location for holiday-makers.

A rural and varied paradise

This area of southwest France has everything needed for a great holiday. Admittedly, you’re around 2h 30mins from the coast, but who wants those crowds and traffic-jams?

Here’s just a taste of what Lot et Garone and the Lot Valley has to offer:

• Varied landscapes – orchards, meadows, vineyards, rivers, wooded hills, bastide hill-top villages, and chateaux

• Wildlife – wild deer and boar are common, and the bird-song and wildflowers are magnificent.
• Tremendous well-marked walking trails and cycle routes including the GR-652 (part of the Compostela pilgrims trail) which passes our door.

From Mairie de Montayral head south west on D139 towards Mauroux. After 2KM turn right up Route du Aerodrome. Take the first left into Chemin de Lafon. Turn right and take the first drive on the right.
