This private one-bedroom apartment combines the comfort of modern facilities with the charm of rural France, surrounded by rolling hills, woodland, orchards, and vineyards.
The air-conditioned* cottage includes a king-sized bedroom, fully equipped kitchen, private patio, heated swimming pool, and garden areas designed for relaxing outdoor living. Whether you want to spend your days walking, cycling, exploring historic bastide towns, visiting vineyards, or simply unwinding beside the pool, Jasmin Cottage offers a quiet and comfortable base throughout the year.
Unlike larger holiday complexes, Jasmin Cottage hosts only one set of guests at a time, ensuring a calm and private atmosphere shared only with the owners.
Bedroom
The upstairs bedroom includes air-conditioning, a king-sized bed, ensuite shower-room, built-in wardrobes, and views across the surrounding countryside. Central heating throughout the cottage makes Jasmin Cottage comfortable in every season, from hot summer evenings to cooler winter escapes.
Bed linen and bath towels are provided.

Private ensuite shower-room
The bedroom benefits from a spacious private ensuite shower-room, with heated towel rail, large shower enclosure, wash basin, and toilet. A second toilet with wash basin is situated on the ground floor.

The spacious kitchen is fully equipped for longer stays and relaxed dining at home, with induction hob, oven/grill, microwave, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, and generous granite work-surfaces. Whether preparing breakfast before a day exploring the Lot Valley or cooking with fresh produce from local markets, the kitchen is designed to feel practical and comfortable rather than temporary holiday accommodation..
Garden, pool, patios
The heated swimming pool, gardens, and patios provide several places to relax throughout the day, from sunny poolside loungers to shaded seating areas. Guests have their own private patio and BBQ area, while the pool and some garden areas are peacefully shared with the two owners only. There are no other rental guests on the property.
Pool towels are provided.
Jasmin Cottage enjoys a quiet hillside location near Montayral, surrounded by unspoilt meadows, woodland, plum orchards, and vineyards. Despite the peaceful rural setting, everyday amenities are close at hand.
A large supermarket is just five minutes away by car, while the village centre — with boulangerie, butcher, tabac, and restaurant — can be reached in around 25 minutes on foot.
The nearby River Lot and surrounding countryside provide excellent walking and cycling opportunities directly from the door. The region is also well known for its Cahors vineyards, so wine tasting and dining opportunities abound.

The cottage takes its name from the jasmin growing throughout the garden. During early summer evenings, the scent drifts across the terraces and pool area, mixed with the fragrance of roses, flowering shrubs, and warm countryside air.
The gardens attract a remarkable variety of birds, and in spring guests often hear nightingales after dark, while cicadas provide the soundtrack to hot summer afternoons.
It is this combination of quiet surroundings, nature, birdsong, and open countryside views that many guests remember most strongly after their stay.
The heated pool is generally open from May until late October, depending on weather conditions. Jasmin Cottage is fully centrally heated and remains open throughout the year.
The property is designed primarily for couples seeking a peaceful stay. We do not accommodate children.
Guests may bring one small sociable dog by arrangement, provided they are comfortable around our own dogs.
Because the bedroom is upstairs with relatively steep stairs, and because the gardens include steps, the property is unfortunately not suitable for guests with restricted mobility.
Jasmin Cottage is a private one-bedroom annex attached to the owners’ home, with its own separate entrance and dedicated parking area. Guests enjoy complete privacy within the cottage itself, along with their own outdoor seating and patio areas.
The pool and gardens are shared only with the owners. There are no additional guest properties on site, helping to ensure a genuinely peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.
Hilary and Nigel Warren hosted guests for eight years in the UK before moving permanently to France in 2024.
We enjoy helping guests discover the area and are always happy to suggest local walks, restaurants, vineyards, markets, and places to visit. Equally, we understand that many guests simply want privacy and quiet relaxation, so the level of interaction is entirely up to you.
